Bang for the buck!

Flag review

My family and I stayed at Lodge at the Falls three different times in 2012. The price for a double queen room is around $55 (same for king room) and they have a wonderful breakfast (biscuits and gravy, cereal, oatmeal, bagels, and donuts) in the morning, popcorn in the afternoon, cookies at night, and a pool. From this hotel, one can take the back route and skip all the traffic to get to SDC and other main attractions.

Tips for Families

There was enough room in our king room to set up our son's pack and play and still have enough room to walk around.

Suggestions for nearby family-friendly attractions

Silver Dollar City, Ride the Ducks, Wal-Mart, and Dixie Stampede are not close to this location, but it is connected to all the back routes which allow you to miss all the main street traffic.

Family fun all around.

Flag review

My family and I love going to SDC. This theme park offers a clean park and very family friendly atmosphere. The employees are happy to offer assistance if necessary and it is rare someone seems to be put out by a question. The shops and rides fit the old time theme the park strives to maintain.

Tips for Families

Wear walking shoes, the park was built in the hills of the Ozarks. Bring enough money to pay to park, it does not take as long to get parked and is closer most of the time.

Older kids would enjoy.

Flag review

When my wife and I visited the Titanic Museum we did not have children. The overall experience was educational and fun. There are many activities along the tour which can assist in keeping your child's attention. Close to the end of the tour it shows how the conditions would have been if one was actually on the Titanic the night it sank.

Tips for Families

I do not think young children (6 and below) would find this very interesting, but I did not have children when I visited.

Entertaining at night.

Flag review

I have been to the boardwalk at night. If you are looking for something fun and free to do go to the landing's boardwalk. At night there is a light and water show (which includes fire) next to the river which is free. It last between ten and fifteen minutes.

Tips for Families

This does include loud noise, bright colors, and fire.

Great time.

Flag review

While it will cost around $45 a person (adult), you get an hour pre-show, the full show and a very filling dinner. I enjoy going to this show very much. My one year old did not really enjoy the sitting, but I think the show would be entertaining for three and up. If you get the chance go to the Christmas show.

Tips for Families

Enjoy the show.

Fun and educational.

Flag review

My family and I visited this attraction and enjoyed it. There are two different sections to this ride. The one we rode went onto Table Rock Lake and visited that section of town. We learned about how/why the dam was built, about the "Ducks" and about the lake and the surrounding area. The other ride goes to "Old Branson" and onto Lake Taneycomo. Since I have not rode this one I cannot give a proper review, but I am sure it is interesting.

Tips for Families

You will more than likely get wet on either of these rides since they go out onto the lake. Wear appropriate clothing . The rides are open air rides, therefore whatever the temperature is outside it could be that temperature while on the ride (the moving air does help).
