So much to see!

Flag review

Our recent visit to the DAM was free. I found a free pass on the local news station website, Denver 7 that was good for visits during December to January 6. My four kiddos and I love going to the Denver Art Museum. Seven stories in the first building connected to 4 stories in the second make for a lot to see. Families with smaller kiddos may want to hit only the floors that interest them most as it can make for a long day trying to cover everything. My teens & tween have never been able to cover everything in a day. So if you have little ones bring a stroller.

Tips for Families

There is an affordable easy access parking structure next to the museum.

Baby Bears are the Best!

Flag review

Look for coupons before visiting Bear Country, it's a bit over priced. Last Mother's Day they had a carload admission half off sale. For bigger families the carload max charge of $60 makes admission more affordable per person than for smaller families at $16 for adults and $10 for kids ages 5-12. This drive through zoo with "free range" bears, wolves, etc is a fast activity. Be sure to drive through a second time. The best part that my family of six loved was watching the baby bears play in their exhibit in the walk through part of the property. At the time of our visit, they had 30 or more baby bears out playing, wrestling, getting wet and just being adorable.

Tips for Families

Load up the car with relatives as the max carload admission price is $60. :)

Great Zoo- Membership worthy

Flag review

The Denver Zoo makes for a great day trip. The best exhibits are Predator Ridge and the new Elephant Passage. My family of 6 gets a membership every other year. (rotating with the Cheyenne Mountain Zoo) If you travel to Denver often with a big family, a family membership is worth the price. To save on your trip, pack a lunch and a blanket; there's plenty of places to for a picnic. Arrive early in the morning for the best parking (there is a parking structure) and animal movement. Avoid free days unless you enjoy huge crowds.

Tips for Families

To help your kids slow down at a zoo; take along clip boards, pencils, and paper and have them draw their favorite animals as they sit by the exhibits.
