Loved the decor at T Rex

Flag review

We enjoyed our visit to T Rex at Downtown Disney Lake Buena Vista. I liked Rainforest Cafe better. So Did my youngest son. My daughter said it was a tie between the two. She liked them both. My husband and oldest son liked T Rex better. The only thing that bothered me was our waitress was kind of rude. Worse than that even. But in her defense I think it was the end of her shift and she looked really tired. I also didn't like that even though we were supposed to have preferred seating they set us at a table where all I could see was their cooking chickens. We found some great stuff on clearance in their gift shop. Absolutely loved the decor. We ordered an appetizer to share between the 5 of us and while I didn't care for it my oldest son loved it. All in all it was ok and we will visit there again next time we go to Downtown Disney :)

Tips for Families

Don't sit in front of their Flaming Kitchen. All you will see is cooking chickens

Had a great time at Downtown Disney

Flag review

It depends on what you like but we had a great time at Downtown Disney. Everything was too expensive for us to afford to shop or eat there but there were other free things to do like ride the ferry and listen to music. It was fun to window shop. There is a lot of construction going on there right now. I read they are building a parking garage. I can't believe they plan to make it bigger! It's already quite huge. I'm not sure I like the name change to Disney Springs. Actually I'm pretty sure I don't like it but hopefully it will grow on me. The one thing I really thought was missing there were characters in costume. That would have been nice. We plan to visit Disney Boardwalk and Celebration Disney next..

Tips for Families

Bring a lot of money and wear comfortable shoes! :)

Our visit to Animal Kingdom Lodge

Flag review

We visited Animal Kingdom Lodge this month. I thought it was awesome. My daughter said she was disappointed. My youngest son loved it. I guess it all depends on your style. My husband like The Contemporary better. I liked Animal Kingdom Lodge better. The pool at the Animal Kingdom Lodge is only 3 and a half feet deep at its deepest part. The water slide I thought was awesome but my 16 year old said it was too small. Smaller than it looked in the photos. My younger son loved it. I loved the landscaping, style of the place and the animals we saw. The hot tubs smelled way too strongly of chlorine. It actually gave us a bit of a stomach ache. I would recommend staying at this place if you're the type of person who enjoys going to the zoo and animals :)

Tips for Families

Can't see the Disney fireworks from this resort hotel..

The room served its purpose. Staff was nice.

Flag review

I was a little worried to stay at the Clarion Lake Buena Vista because I had seen some bad reviews. But it was perfectly ok. We stayed there about a total of 5 hours and all of that devoted to sleep. They checked us in early because we had a reservation at RainForest Cafe which was very nice of them. We bought a fold out bed so we could have 5 in the room. It was an extra $15. The total cost of the room for us was $70 with the extra bed. The pool opened at 10 and closed at 10. Would have been nice if it was open all night but noone does that so..All the employees were nice. I tried to sign us up for the offer they had in the lobby to tour the Wyndham resort for a free 7 day stay but my husband wouldn't go for it. All in all the room served it's purpose which was for us to have a place to sleep. I had read the employees there were rude and they weren't. I was afraid the neighborhood would be rough because of the reviews I'd read but it felt perfectly safe. They didn't have a hot tub which disappointed my daughter but that's ok we wouldn't have had time to use it anyway. My kids enjoyed playing in their arcade. The 3 of them played for about an hour with $10 so it seems like the games were pretty good and lasted awhile. The bathrooms in the lobby were really nice. I wish they piped music in like the Disney resorts and stuck with the Disney theme but I did like the natural Florida look they had in the lobby and the locally taken photos they had hanging up. We thought our room came with 2 free breakfast buffets but they told us you had to pay for them. They were 11 dollars I think but we had breakfast elsewhere. Didn't try their onsite restaurant at all. The look of the place was ok. Nothing really special about it but it looked well maintained. All in all it was fine.

Tips for Families

They said it doesn't cost extra to have 5 people in the room. Just costs extra for a fold out bed=$15
