Great place to chill out with the kids

Flag review

We've been here several times and enjoy the seclusion of the place, the hammocks and the beautiful white sanded beach and views. The cottages are fine, the zero entry pool on the island, the food is fine. The close proximity to Mallory Square is also good as an evening diversion. The problem here is that Key West itself is pretty downscale and there is only so much you can do here as a repeat destination. And if the weather is too cold or gray, you're really stuck. We came in February and it was unseasonably cold and it really loused up our visit. We've had better luck in November.

Tips for Families

Babysitting can be a problem here. The hotel doesn't want to arrange it and there are not a lot of sitters around. We've had a few poor ones here. Insist that the hotel recommend you sitters they've used and that they know they like.

One of our Family Favorites

Flag review

We've been coming here with the kids for the past few years and like it because it allows you to enjoy the action of the water parks a mile away but be in total seclusion over here. it costs more money but pound for pound you really get value for your money. It's a world away from the hotels at Atlantis. And it has all the things we want for the kids -- drop in day camp, zero entry pool, nice beach and good food.

Tips for Families

Get the morning buffet at Mosaic at the Cove if you are tired of eating at Dune at the hotel. If you have breakfast included, they will often let you use the credit at the Cove since the hotels are owned by the same person.
