Great destination, hotel needs an update

Flag review

Always love staying in Aruba, stayed here a few times a few years back. The first few times were great, as we kept going back the hotel gradually has gotten worse and worse. We had to move rooms a few times upon arrival due to the smell of mold in some of the rooms we were placed in. If they just update their rooms a bit, replace the carpet, the hotel could turn around. Checking prices this year for December are quite ridiculous for this hotel - $11,000 for 4 people when I checked. Personally I would stay elsewhere for this kind of money - the Hyatt, Divi, Occidental, and Riu are 10X more worth the money.

Tips for Families

Bingo was good, don't win very much I think they gave a bar drink or a t-shirt.

Amazing Hotel

Flag review

This hotel is perfect! Beautiful beach-front property, and amazing pools! There are two pool sections in total - one for kids (3 slides guaranteed to keep them busy ALL day), and another a little quieter for those seeking a little relaxation. Bedrooms were always kept clean, very comfortable and cozy. They have an amazing breakfast buffet, with a special kids table with kid friendly sized items (mini muffins, mini cereal boxes, fruit cups...). The only negative I have about this Hyatt hotel is that they ONLY offer valet parking if you bring a car - meaning you HAVE to pay $34/day as there is literally no parking around the area (beach parking is not available overnight). Great place all in all!

Tips for Families

Make sure you get up early to get some chairs in the slyders pool area - gets VERY busy VERY fast

Suggestions for nearby family-friendly attractions

There is Disneyland, knotts berry farm nearby, and universal studios fairly close to the hotel

Suggestions for nearby family-friendly restaurants

The dining scene wasn't particularly our favourite, they tend to close fairly early. We liked the hotel breakfast buffet, and there were a couple of Cheesecake factories nearby which was definitely our favourite

Great stay in Aruba

Flag review

Hello! Been going to aruba for over 10 years, usually staying at other high rise hotels, but we thought we'd try the Divi Aruba Phoenix and see how it was this time. We were very pleased with the pool and beach area - very clean. The bingo activity was a lot of fun for both myself and my family - love trying to win some money! There are two sides of the resort, one being a little more updated than the "tower" I think it was called. I recommend you stay on the other side as it is updated and newer. Great kitchen space, beds were comfy, and food was great! Hopefully will return soon! Miss it everyday!

Tips for Families

-stay on the updated side -have a great time!
