Pizza, Gelato, Italy, oh my!

Flag review

We stayed in Milan for a week before venturing on to Venice. Overall, I would say there isn't a whole lot to do with the kids. We of course saw the Duomo, which is pretty magnificent! It's a very walkable city to see all of the major sights, but we found ourselves bored after a few days. We did manage to entertain ourselves playing in the Castello Sforzesco Fountain one day, & rolling barefoot in the grass down the hills near the Sforza Castle. We had ourselves a picnic and spent hours at the park one day (a highlight for the kids of course) If you are looking for something leisurely, than Milan is a great city for that. The Gelato is a must. The Pizza too. But if you're in Italy, heck...that's just a given ;)

Tips for Families

If you need healthcare for child for whatever reason, it's FREE here! My son had an ear infection when we first got in so we took him to the pediatric emergency room, showed them his passport and got the prescription we needed! They just gave us a slip and we were able to walk into the pharmacy and pay a total of 7 euros for what he needed.

Hundreds of Hot Air Balloons fill the sky!

Flag review

Every October, Albuquerque hosts the world famous, International Balloon fiesta at the balloon fiesta park! An event where HUNDREDS of balloonists from all over the world come and soar to the sky! Hot Air Balloons, EVERYWHERE you look! What child wouldn't be intrigued by this!? It truly is a "once in a lifetime" experience that my children and I still talk about today...asking, "can we go again next year!?" In my opinion, the best day to go with the kids is the during the "Special Shapes Rodeo" or the "Special Shape Glowdeo" - Imagine Hot Air Balloons that are shaped as cows, bees, boats, monkeys, houses, and more! Nearly 100 different special shape balloons! Plenty of venders, food, and games as well.

Tips for Families

Plan to spend a few days in Albuquerque, the weather determines everything. The wind has to be "just right." Dress in layers, those mornings can get chilly! Don't forget to have the kids ask the pilots for a trading card, the kids had a blast collecting them all!
