Great place to visit for kids AND adults!

Flag review

I've only been to the California Science Center once before, to see the Bodies Exhibit, which was incredibly impressive. This time, I went with my 13-year-old and my husband to see the Pompeii Exhibit, and it was pretty good - not very many pieces but very informative and well-presented. It gave us more insight on the lives of the people of Pompeii before the fated event. I would recommend it to families, especially those with kids who are interested in ancient history like my son. And of course, no visit to this museum is complete without stopping by to see the Endeavor. The feeling you get as soon as you walk into the "hanger" and see the spacecraft is priceless. There's this sense of epicness and great achievement. Plus, they have simulators if you want to experience how it's like to be in a spaceship in outer space. There are other equally amazing exhibits there, as well. We didn't get a chance to see them all since we were pressed for time, but we are planning on coming back again - especially because general admission is free and the special exhibit tickets are so cheap!

Tips for Families

Bring cash and keep a lookout for stand-alone experiences like wall climbing and hurricane simulators. And stop by the gift shop and get your kids a pack of space food. They will be fascinated.

Terrific Cafe in NorthEast LA

Flag review

Great and affordable lunch and breakfast menu. Big servings. Terrific lattes. Super friendly staff. Nice rustic-ish atmosphere. Definitely one of my favorite brunch and lunch spots in LA. Everyone I took here has loved this place.

Tips for Families

Try The Mayan for latte and their amazing Cobb salad!
