    Magical Fun!

My kids loved this hotel so much. They loved that it was so close to the parks.

    Tips for Families

Great for families with kids because you don’t have to worry about driving to the park and you can to back to the hotel if you need a break and go right back with no trouble.

It’s Disney, but it’s not the Grand Californian

I have to preface by saying prior to this trip, we had only ever stayed at the Grand Californian at Disneyland. We decided this trip to try to save a some $ by staying at the Paradise Pier. I mean, it’s a Disney hotel and it’s just across the street–how much difference can it make? Well, I guess we are spoiled by the Grand Californian, because it was a lot different. It felt a LOT farther from the parks, and it just didn’t have the same ‘Disney feel’ that the Grand has. Probably if we had never stayed at the Grand, it would have been fine. The elevators were occasionally slow, but not unbearable, except late at night after World of Color. Honestly, we spent all day in the parks, so the overall effect on our vacation was the few extra minutes it took to get back and forth. Probably the biggest difference was the bathroom set up. Having the toilet and shower in a separate room than the sink (2 sinks at the Grand!) made getting ready in the morning with 2 almost teenage girls much more time consuming. It’s still Disney, though, and we still had a great vacation!

    Tips for Families

If the elevators are slow, press the ‘up’ button and go up first before going down.

    A Day in Paradise!

This was probably the 4th time we’ve stayed at the Paradise Pier hotel, part of the Disneyland Resort. We stayed after spring break and before summer, so the price was a bit lower (though still much higher than surrounding hotels in the area). I love the convenience of staying close to the parks and Downtown Disney. We also love the rooftop swimming pool and water slide. Disney Resort Hotels are always clean and staff is friendly and helpful.

    Tips for Families

Sit in the pool area at night to watch the fireworks and avoid the park crowds. The music is even piped in over the loud speakers.

    Disney magic beach style!

This is the least expensive of the on-site Disneyland Hotels, so you get the perks of staying onsite like Early Entry into the parks! The Surf’s Up character breakfast is a lot of fun, and for a quick bite before enjoying early entry, grab something from the Surfside Lounge.

    Tips for Families

We paid for a standard room but got a free upgrade to a gorgeous view of California Adventure! From our room we easily could have watched World of Color, and you can pipe the music in to your room.
