Great people, but hotel not as expected

Submitted by: Weary of rain Seattlelite

This was our fifth trip to Mexico but first to PV. I have to say, best thing on this trip, great wait staff who really all go above and beyond with a smile. What I am really disappointed with- room and room cleaning service quality. Here are a few things I liked:1) Great wait staff2) Good entertainment3) Good pools & barsMediocre:Meals and variety of food available. Even though the Italian restaurant has good ambience, the food is far from authentic- too much local influence. Food mostly catered to locals palate as well as carnivores.Dessert choices were good only some of hte daysTruly unhappy about:Room in the main tower. Check for upgrade to Preferred building if possible. The other one is a complete dump....

We Loved Mexico!

We were looking for a Hotel on the Beach so we could Boogie Board on the waves. We heard the Pacific would be better than the Caribbean for this purpose and we weren't disappointed. There are many Hotels in Puerto Vallarta, but I doubt many have a better beach than the one we enjoyed at the Dreams Puerto Vallarta. In addition, the staff are amazing from the front desk through to the restaurant servers and beach attendants. The food was amazing and diverse throughout the 5 excellent restaurants. The town of Puerto Vallarta is a short taxi (or bus) ride. After dinner we often headed to town to walk the Malecon (Spanish for Boardwalk). Many shops, nightclubs and restaurants are found along this route, as well a...

Amazing family facation

Spent 7 nights at this great property. Have stayed at other newer dreams properties in the cancun area but this one was different. A bit more old school, but the beach was essentially private (and lovely). The weather was absolutely perfect the entire time. Beach:Very clean, soft sand, water/waves were a bit rough for young children. Drink service on the preferred side was pretty goodRooms:We were in the preferred tower and the rooms were very nice - super clean, very modern and spacious. Have all the necessary amenities.Food:Restaurants were pretty good (for an all-inclusive). Certainly don't expect gourmet cuisine, but not terrible either. Most restaurants were relatively open with either no wait or 25-30m...
