The smoke-free Hotel of South Beach stands in the center of the trendy Art Deco District around the corner from famous Ocean Drive, a block from the beach and across the street from designer shopping. The Hotel of South Beach still sports its 1939 edifice and original terrazzo floors. Bright Florida sunshine baths the jewel-toned lobby through original Deco windows. An egg-shaped banquette in green velvet and a mosaic-glass mirror in shades of gold add more special touches. The Hotel features one of the area's few rooftop pools, where guests obtain views of the Atlantic Ocean. Cabanas line the area, where sun worshippers also recieve massages, drinks and food. Within short walks or driving distances from the Hotel, they can find tennis, windsurfing, golf, and helicopter and airplane "flightseeing." Wish, the Hotel's restaurant, dazzles patrons with fresh haute cuisine with Asian influences. Wish was one of 50 restaurants named by Conde Nast Traveler Magazine on the "Hot Tables List" and one of the "world's most exciting restaurants." Fans dine in a romantic outdoor garden or in a Persian-inspired bar, where glass lamps in blues and purples highlight high tables and "electronic" cocktails glow with neon ice cubes. In the hallways, gem-inspired lights glow with room numbers. The rooms feature Italian Frette bedding with satin pillows, tie-dyed bathrobes, hand-painted bathroom tiles, and fancy bath amenities by White Company of London. High-definition flatscreen televisions are standard in all rooms. The Hotel of South Beach, which combines Art-Deco luxury with 21st century comforts, is a member of the National Trust for Historic Preservation's Historic Hotels of America.

Ritz Carlton-Miami Beach
Went down to Miami to visit friends and family. The hotel was perfectly located on the beach and on lincoln Road which is a tourist mecca for shopping and restaurants. The pool area is just the right size, not so big like the fountain bleu or too small like a boutique hotel. Loved the afternoon treats that they bring around to all of the pool patrons. The hotel was very well laid out and the service was very good. We did the spa one day which was OK but not up to par with other Ritz Carlton locations I have stayed in. Here is what needs to be improved: The security was laking. The gate to the beach was always open from the beach. When I reported it to the desk, the first person told me it was to make sure gu...
