The Lucerne Hotel offers New York City visitors luxury accommodations in the heart of Manhattan’s posh Upper West Side. The Lucerne’s building is a treasured landmark built in 1904 that recently underwent a multi-million dollar renovation. The result is European-inspired architectural charm combined with sophisticated and modern accommodations. The Lucerne’s guestrooms and suites represent the ultimate in comfort. Featuring full-size work desks, plush bedding, this luxury Manhattan hotel caters to your every need. Business and leisure travelers will appreciate The Lucerne’s complimentary high-speed Internet and printing services. It’s no wonder then that The New York Times’ review of The Lucerne proclaimed: “Service unrivalled.” Enjoy breakfast, lunch, and dinner at the hotel’s Nice Matin restaurant and sidewalk cafe, a popular destination beloved by both locals and tourists. Every Thursday evening, wind down with some wine during The Lucerne’s complimentary wine hour. The Lucerne is just a short subway ride to Lincoln Center and walking distance of the American Museum of Natural History, The Children’s Museum of Manhattan, Columbus Circle, Riverside Park, Central Park, and several fine restaurants, specialty boutiques, and cafes.

    The Lucerne..Luxury and Kid-Friendly

My family (husband and 10 y.o. son) stayed at the Lucerne during a three day visit to the city. We found the hotel to be luxurious and kid friendly at the same time. We all marveled at the European style hotel rooms which were clean with a dark chccolate brown decor. We found the room to be a little snug but adequate for us. However, the atmosphere of the hotel including its perfect location and top notch staff, were well worth it. The hotel is located on the Upper East side. We spent the day at The Museum of Natural History which is within walking distance of the hotel. The surrounding neighborhoods are a great part of the tour. The upscale area offers interesting architecture and hopes of spotting some stars. One of our favorite features is their restuarant, Nice Matin. What a great find. The European decor almost transports you to the streets of Paris in this sidewalk cafe-style eatery. The menu is fun offering many light, French Meditterrean dishes and is perfect for a full meal or a light snack after a long day of travel. We would highly recommend The Lucerne for an upscale family get-away.

    Tips for Families

The Lucerne is within close proximity of many of New York’s museums so spending a few extra dollars here may save you in cab fare if staying at another location. Consider a visit over the 3 day Martin Luther King Holiday when the city is less crowded.
