(BTW, the title is not a typo - expansive is a word) Summary: What a great location! After our first few days in Waikiki, this place was the perfect two-thirds of our Oahu vacation. Got rather windy most days, but that meant staying cool even in the sun on the beach. It also meant our horse ride in the hills was cool, not hot and humid as it could have been. Overall, we all (including two teenagers) loved the place - good rooms and beds, good food and lots of activities. Definitely need a car to get around, or you'd be stuck at the resort the whole time (nothing within walking distance except the bus stop). We wanted to experience the North Shore on Oahu, so we booked a Beach Villa for one night at Turtle Bay Resort. We prepaid for our Villa to get the discount. When we arrived at the Resort, we were surprised to find how large it. The website does not do it justice. It is large with a beautiful golf course, tennis courses, a large pool as well as beautiful beaches. The check in line was long, and it took a while to get to the counter. At the counter, we were told that we had been upgraded and moved to the hotel which we were not excited about as we wanted to stay on the beach.
