    Our Home Away from Home

We stay here every year with our children and friends. We opt to stay in their largest accommodations- their 4/4. It is larger than our home, and everyone has plenty of room to run around. The pool is amazing for everyone, the Pirate ship and slide are on the kids to do list when we arrive. The staff is amazing and personal help us with each visit!

    Tips for Families

Go and enjoy this off Disney Property, you get more bang for your buck and are still within a 15 minute drive of downtown Disney.

    Nice, but can get pricey!

Our most recent visit to the Lake Buena Vista Resort was with a group of family. This was our second visit. The group included my family (me, my husband and 10-month-old), my sister’s family (she, her husband, and 6-year-old, 4-year-old, and 2-year-old), and my father-in-law. We rented a three-bedroom Barbados suite, and were immediately impressed with its cleanliness upon entry. It featured two bathrooms, a laundry area, a full kitchen, eating area, living room, and three bedrooms (a queen, two twins, and king room). There was also a sofa bed in the living room area. There was also a balcony. The master featured a walk-in closet and huge tub. The furnishings in the suite were nice, and the kitchen had granite countertops. The kitchen featured all the implements you would need to cook and serve a meal. There was plenty of room to move around. It was really comfortable. The resort’s Pirate Plunge Pool was really nice, complete with a pirate ship as its centerpiece. The pool area featured a bar with a nice variety of beverages. As we spent most of our time at Walt Disney World, we did not try out any of the hotel’s other amenities, which include a Kids’ Club, fitness center, relaxation pool, spa, game room, and convenience store. The Lake Buena Vista Factory Stores, a small outlet mall, is located right next to the resort (see http://www.lbvfs.com/Orlando-Outlet-Store-Directory.cfm for a list of stores). Other outlets and shopping areas are nearby. This resort is conveniently located near many area attractions, and is only a short drive from Walt Disney World and Universal Orlando. The dining left something to be desired. The Irish pub that is on-site was not that great and my husband became violently ill after eating there. There is also a Pizza Hut Express and the Tiki Bar at the pool. Be prepared to drive off-site for better dining options.

    Tips for Families

    – Turn on the ice maker right when you arrive so it can start making ice. – It is better to dine off site, as there are not that many options right near the resort.

    The best resort in Orlando

I enjoyed the visit very much. I was very impressed with the room and the view from the balcony. The bed’s comfort was phenomenal. I will always remember this place and always recommend it to anyone who plans to visit Orlando.

    Tips for Families

This resort is within walking distance of downtown Disney and minutes away from several restaurants if you do not want to eat at the resort.
