A Vacation Tour of Saratoga Springs

Due to some schedulling issues, our most recent family trip to Walt Disney World needed some re-tooling. When we were finished secruing dates in early November, we had to do some room switching during the trip to make it work. This trip proved an interesting tour of Disney’s Saratoga Springs Resort and Spa. It was a bit hectic to be “moving” for the first three days of our trip, but we are seasoned Disney guests so it wasn’t so bad. Our first night we were in a 2 bedroom unit at The Springs. The location was perfect! We were right across the street from EVERYTHING. The bus stop was convenient and we could get to everything we needed. We moved into the 3 bedroom grand villa for the second night. THIS is living! I have stayed at the Grand Villa at Old Key West but not at Saratoga. This place was larger than my house! We had a dining room and interior stairs leading to two separate bedrooms. It had four bathrooms. FOUR!!! I tell you, for our party of 6 it was fantastic. The ONLY downside — we were in The Grandstand which is the farthest from everything. The last move we made was to The Paddock into a 2 bedroom unit. While the two bedrooms are lovely, we were spoiled from the Grand Villa. What we lost in space we made up for in location. We were close to a bus stop in the middle of the route and while a bit farther from the pool/spa/restaurant -it wasn’t horrible. I will say that if we ever need a three bedroom Gand Villa, Saratoga Springs will be my first choice!

    Tips for Families

If you want to be close to everything, do NOT stay in the Grandstand section

Happiest place on earth for our daughter’s 4th birthday!

They really cater to the birthday and first time visitors!

Have a plan of attack each day so you don’t miss anything. A little organization goes a long way!

    Not Disney enough for us

It was a little outdated and did not have a fun atmosphere. I get that its more relaxed and for longer stay but we could have used a little more fun. Still, its Disney and we enjoyed our stay but will stay somewhere else the next time.

    Tips for Families

    Bring food and drinks

    Baby Friendly and Relaxing

We stayed four nights in the Saratoga Springs with our 8 month old. What a great vacation. We did not intend to go to the parks. We wanted a place to hang by the pool and be close to family friendly restaurants and shops. Saratoga Springs is within walking distance to Downtown Disney. The pools were gorgeous and nice and warm for our little one. The staff was extremely helpful. The restaurants at Saratoga Springs were good and accommodating to our baby. The property is beautiful. The rooms were spotless. Using Disney Magic Express from the airport and airline checkin at the hotel, we were able to get off the plane and head straight to the hotel where our bags met us and leave the hotel with our boarding passes and head straight to security. What a convenience with a baby! Overall, we had an excellent trip, enjoyed our stay at the hotel and will return in years to come.

    Tips for Families

Take advantage of the Disney Magic Express and hotel airline check in. We did not have to worry about navigating the stroller, our carry on luggage and our checked bags during the trip.
