YesCasual elegance at the ocean's edge
There's something about the Hotel del Coronado that keeps drawing us back again and again. We live here, so we visit and just enjoy the casual elegance of the property. And of course we love to bring out of town family and friends. It makes for a great stay-cation or just an afternoon getaway. Start with the front facade and the architectural splendor of the roof line - you can almost see yourself in Oz (yes, L. Frank Baum wrote part of the story while there). And check out the tree in front that you will recognize from the classic movie Some Like It Hot with Marilyn Monroe, Jack Lemmon and Tony Curtis (there's a sign). Nice Classic Charm

Family Vacation at the Del
We just finished a 4 night family vacation (boys aged 7 and 10) at the Del. Our room was large and nice - ocean view on the first floor in the California Cabanas area. At check-in we weren't sure we liked the room location (checking in on the 4th of July, the sidewalk area, etc.in front of room was understandably a zoo and we were not in the historic portion of the hotel) -- but as the trip progressed, we really enjoyed the room. The 4th chaos subsided quite a bit by the next day. The kids could walk across grassy area and sidewalk and play on beach where we could see them from the room, easy access to beach for morning jogs, etc. -- and we were very near the pool. We did not have any issues with thin walls ...
