Graduation trip

Submitted by: AmyNewPalestine

We stayed here over July 4th, for my daughter's graduation trip. This hotel is excellent, the rooms are spacious, and if you are a loew's first member you get an upgrade. We had a room with a pull out sofa, which was twin sized, and we had planned on my youngest daughter sleeping on it because those are usually so uncomfortable, however, this one was so comfortable that my six foot tall older sister claimed it and loved it! When you stay at this resort you get a fast pass for all the rides at Islands of Adventure and Universal, plus an early admission to the world of Harry Potter! These amenities make the higher price tag for the room well worth it! There are many restaurants at the resort, all of them excel...

Italy - Florida style!

This was our third stay at The Portofino and there's a reason why we keep coming back. It's an excellent location for access to the Universal parks (which are the best for teenagers). It's trouble free, friendly, has a good selection of restaurants (although watch out for Mama's - don't think she's been there for a while - cheaper Pizzas a much better bet). Transport to the parks is a bonus and best of all the great fast pass system and early access to get on The Rocket (the teenager's favourite) and Harry Potter's various rides (everyone's favourites). Also, unlike a lot of US hotels you can get guaranteed family rooms for younger kids, or inter-connecting for older (although these have to be garden view - ...

Best place to stay

We stayed in a garden room 1373 not the best view, but instead of paying for an upgrade we used the money to eat at all the hotel restaurants, which are all worth a visit. Did not have a car, you dont need one. Used hotel transport for everything we needed mostly free. The local malls cost $20. The beach pool was excellent free towels, water and sun cream. Drinks and food a bit expensive but good quality and large portions. WiFI is not free and over priced. Room service and room bar again expensive. house keeping was good if you put out a Service my room sign if you forgot then very slow, but not the end of the world. Every staff member was friendly and helped towards the overall atmosphere of Dolce vite. T...

We just returned from a great stay at portofino bay. We loved it. Super clean, staff very helpful, great food. The front desk manager helped find us a quiet room and it was above our expectations. We can't wait to return. This was our first trip ...
