Stayed for two nights over the 4th of July. Great oceanfront room to view the annual outrigger canoe races. Easy check-in and very personable staff. Reception, bellmen, housekeeping all professional and courteous, made us feel welcome. Pool gets crowded early and you may not be abe to score a chaise lounge unless you go early. Rooms a little small and elevators painfully slow...plus crowded at peak times. Difficult arrival if driving as you need to negotiate a very busy main Waikiki street to valet park nd unload. Parking was a bit expensive but retrieving car was hassle free. Dined at both restaurants, Duke's for lunch and breakfast and the Hula Grill for dinner. Food was excellent and reasonably priced. Lovely setting, large rooms, slow elevator.
Stayed here during the remodel; rates were super reasonable for a nice hotel on the beach. The room Was large and nicely furnished, though the bed was too hard. Saw new mattresses being delivered so hopefully the beds will be more comfortable soon. Slow elevators and thin walls (could hear the neighbors early in the morning) were the only other issues. The breakfast at Dukes was a great way to start the day and the newly remodeled pool area was very nice, although not huge. The lobby was really lovely but nothing could match the beautiful view out to Waikiki beach. All the employees were very kind and everything was done correctly as asked. One note: to be able to stay in a hotel on this stretch of Waikiki w...
A bit expensive and small crowded beach area
Even with a discount we paid more than usual for this hotel to be right on the beach and it was okay. The room was a decent size (bathroom was a bit odd layout), pretty nice view of the beach & water, clean and quiet with an express elevator we appreciated. We also liked having the refrigerator in the room. Weird how the sprinkler head in the room was seriously eroded. I wasn't sure if it would work still and the halls were very narrow & claustrophobic feeling.... reminding me this is an older hotel. The beach was super nice.. sand etc but also very small and crowded. We had a car and to self park it you had to go about 3 blocks away and still pay $30 for parking. In the end we spent very little time in the ...
