The Renaissance Paris Vendome in Paris, France, is a 1930s-style hotel set on an early 19th-century property within walking distance of the famous Louvre museum. Other nearby attractions include the Champs Elysees, the Opera Garnier and Musee D’Orsay. Paris Charles de Gaulle Airport is 35 kilometers from the hotel. Caramel, chocolate and cream-colored decor provide the backdrop to retro armchairs and furnishings in the 97 soundproofed guestrooms at the Renaissance Paris Vendome. Great location in Paris

This hotel is my favorite when staying in Paris with the kids or for a short visit. The location can’t be beat. The Louvre is just a short walk away and so are three metro lines – Concorde, Tuileries, and Pyramides. Start your day with either a nice breakfast at the hotel (the food is very good), or better yet, walk to Angelina on Rue de Rivoli, but get there early because the crowds form quickly. Then, head to the Louvre for just a little bit (my kids enjoy a museum, but not for very long stretches). After, let them run around to their heart’s delight at the Tuileries. Walk a couple of blocks back to your hotel and freshen up for the evening adventure. The rooms are very small, but, incredibly comfortable. The mattresses are the most comfortable I have found in Europe. Book early and expect to pay high prices, it can be expensive for a family, as you may have to rent more than one room, but I believe the value to cost ratio is good.

    Book early.
