We have just spent 5 days here. We are very pleased with the hotel and the people working there. Especially the concierges was very helpful suggesting resturants and booking tables. We had originally reserved an executive suite, but were upgraded to a wonderful liberty suite, with stunning views over the statue of liberty and ellis island. If you are staying in this hotel, I would strongly recommend paying for a room with a statue of liberty view, the view is simply stunning. Breakfast was expensive and not very impressive, but you can get breakfast from a deli one block away. Food there was great and good value! When I think of a Ritz Carlton, I think of cream, beige, gold, traditional design. This hotel does not have those qualities. Nonetheless, it is a beautiful hotel. The staff are professional and helpful, as one would expect them to be, and the room was clean and comfortable. I visited NY with my parents in May for a weekend of events, and we shared a room with no problems. The bathroom was surprisingly large, which I appreciated. The location is convenient if you intend to head out to Ellis/Liberty Island from Battery Park. We also had the chance to go into Soho for a little shopping. We just returned from our stay at the Ritz Carlton Battery Park and after our 7th or 8th time there I have finally decided to write a review. First of all, the rate, as sized up against the location, staff, service, room size and decor is not to be beat in NYC. I almost hate to write that since I would love to keep this hotel my secret for my friends and family but the hotel is deserving of it. The hotel has beautiful water views of the statue of liberty and the bridges beyond. Just got back from a trip to NYC. We stayed at the Ritz downdown and it was terrific. The staff was so helpful and polite. The room we stayed in was huge. It was perfect for our family of 5. We had an expanded suite with 1.5 baths. It had a fridge and a microwave so we actually had breakfast in the room one morning....
