Best Disney destination for families!
Disney’s Fort Wilderness is our favorite place to stay at Disney World. We get a cabin, and the family has a “home away from home,” complete with kitchen, grill and a separate bedroom for the kids (mom & dad sleep in a Murphy bed in the living area). The whole Fort Wilderness area is great, there is a horse stable, bike and canoe rentals, and lots and lots of trails for walking. Within walking distance are the boat to Magic Kingdom, busses to EPCOT, Animal Kingdom, and Downtown Disney, also Disney’s Wilderness Lodge … it makes a more peaceful, relaxed Disney vacation for the whole family.
Tips for Families
Take advantage of Extra Magic hours and start Disney days early, then take a mid-day break back at Fort Wilderness and skip the worst crowds!

Love it!
We have been there twice and going back again soon. We rented a golf cart to get around and that was fun in its self. The one time we went we took our 4 year old grandson and took the boat to Magic Kingdom. That was so much fun and relaxing. The campground is clean, space in between each site. Chip and Dale is out at night near the camp fire. It is a blast. Great pool too even though we didn’t swim.

Loved it
We stayed with my in-laws so there were 4 adults and 2 children in a cabin. We had plenty of space.
Tips for Families
if you can request to stay closer to the general store, it is much easier to travel around.
