    Faulous!

The “Del” is without a doubt, our favorite hotel in the entire world…..and we’ve been around. The setting is dramatic, the service impeccable, and a good time is always had by all. I’d live there if I could, top floor please! Any season is magnificent but Christmas is particularly fabulous. The decorations are stupendous, the skating rink by the ocean is unreal and the atmosphere is always festive. Love you “Del!”

    Tips for Families

Bring your swim suits and pails for the wonderful beach, but the elegance of the hotel is perfect for all “little ladies and gentlemen.” It’s like stepping back to a bygone era, BUT, has everything any family could possibly want.

    Paradise for families

Gorgeous historic hotel with tons to do for kids (and their parents!). Once you cross the Coronado Bridge, it’s like entering another world. The hotel is on a fantastic beach (rated best in the country last year), so we enjoyed relaxing in the sun while our three-year-old played in the sand. Plus, our room’s ocean views–and sound of the waves crashing at night–were magical. That said, aside from the views, the rooms aren’t anything to write home about–it’s the resort itself that’s the reason to stay here. There’s so much to do–boat rentals, smore nights, bike rentals, ice cream parlor…they even offer surfing lessons! And it’s a beautiful old building with tons of character. Staying here isn’t cheap, but it’s worth the price.

Great hotel, but the Coronado Bridge makes it inconvenient for Sea World and the Zoo

    Sun and Fun

Location. Location. Location The Hotel Del is right on the beach on a great little island. Beaches are uncrowded and beautiful. Cute little town with shops and all kinds of restaurants is easy walking distance from hotel (right across the street to 1 mile max). Everything you need either at the hotel or in town, but if you want more you are only a short drive to Sea World, Sand Diego Zoo, Museums and more.

    Tips for Families

The bungalows by the pool are great. walk out one door right to pool and out the back door to your patio on the beach. If you need a little more space (and have a little extra $$$ lying around) they do have upscale condo like accommodations in the “Village”.
