    Great Downtown Tampa Visit!

We just returned from a really fun 36 hour visit from Tampa Florida. We left our house in Orlando at 9:00am on Saturday morning, arrived at the hotel by 10:30am, and we were inside the Florida Aquarium by 11:00am. A trolley connects several hot spots to the Tampa Convention Center and there was trolley stop right outside our hotel. We rode the trolley to and from the Aquarium, back to Channel Side to get pizza, and also took an after dinner ride to Ybor City. We didn’t get off the trolley there just did a roundtrip to enjoy the sights. As usual we enjoyed the Embassy Suites happy hour; wine for my husband and me and Shirley Temples for the kids! Breakfast the next day was wonderful. Only down side was mandatory valet parking and the fact that despite many rooms being ready Saturday morning, there was a $25 “early check in fee” for anyone checking in before 3:00pm. It didn’t matter to us as we were anxious to enjoy the Aquarium but this is just another example of feeling slightly “nickel and dimed” on vacation.

    Tips for Families

Family Day Pass for the Trolley! $12.50 for as many rides as you want for either 2 adults and 3 children or 1 adult and 4 children. Worth it for sure!
