There’s no better place to luxuriate than in the sunny and intoxicating streets of Miami, but when you’re traveling with the kids a luxury hotel is not always the most cost-effective option. With these five very affordable hotels that feature top-notch kid-friendly amenities and a cozy, welcoming environment however, families can bask in luxury during their Miami getaway without burning a hole in their pocket.
A cute boutique hotel, with 65 stylish guest rooms on 3 floors, the low rise is a rarity on Brickell! Contemporary style comes with great perks like walk-in showers, balconies or lanais, designer interiors and free WIFI. Foodies will appreciate the South Floridan-influenced cuisine and prix fixe menus served in a family-friendly yet funky setting either indoors or by the beautiful pool outdoors. The Urbano’s specialty cocktails are also worth writing home about! For those who like Art, the hotel partners with the Art Fusion Galleries of the Miami Design District displaying cool and unusual exhibits every season. In-room amenities include a fridge, microwave and cribs and babysitting services can be arranged. The hotel is also pet-friendly, should you be travelling with your family doggie-friend!
Holiday Inn Oceanfront Miami Beach (Courtesy Holiday Inn)
Located on an oceanfront beach and just a stone’s throw away from South Beach, this 253-room hotel is ideally located. Wander along to Lincoln Road for some shopping, take in the sights on Ocean Drive or admire the architecture in the Art Deco District. The Collins Avenue hotel has all the bits and pieces you’d expect including a helpful concierge, in-room cable TV, full bathrooms with luxury toiletries, a café, fitness gym and a dreamy outdoor swimming pool and deck, as well as scheduled beachside activities. You can also book rollaway beds or cribs, while teens will appreciate the in room video gaming. Anything else? Oh yes – kids eat free!

A great family option, the Four Points by Sheraton at Miami Beach is a historic hotel on Collins Avenue with all the facilities a family might need. There’s a fabulous heated swimming pool with matching cobalt blue loungers, a full service restaurant, a gym with great ocean views, free WIFI, cable TV and the all-essential Tiki bar, not to mention pristine gardens flanked by swaying palm trees! Parents will enjoy the cool pool lounge and the mesmerizing ocean views, while useful additional services include beachside umbrellas (providing necessary shade from the Floridian sun), practical rollaway beds, cribs or sleeper sofas, as well as in-room microwave, fridge and video gaming.
Epic Hotel (Courtesy EPIC – A Kimpton Hotel)
Close to Downtown and to the world of shopping Miami offers, the Epic Hotel Miami on Biscayne Boulevard is ideally located for those wishing to visit the Dolphins Stadium, South Beach, Coconut Grove, and the Miracle Mile. Guestrooms are stylish and plush, with free WIFI for Kimpton members, room service and satellite television. Babysitting can be organised, as well as cribs and some rooms come with kitchenettes, microwaves and fridges for more independence. There’s also a stunning rooftop pool (and another for good measure) and a delicious Mediterranean restaurant. Most of all, there’s the famous Kimpton ‘can do’ attitude, great ocean and harbour views, and the fact that if you’re feeling lonely the hotel will loan you a pet goldfish for the night. How cool is that?
