For a family of four the one bedroom set up was great. Good size sofacouch. The kitchenette was nice and had all the basics, but not tocook a complex dinner. Internet wifi worked well. It was a nice basicroom - not 5 star. Location is good but depends on where you want tobe. We wanted to be closer to Loyola / Tulane but still have access tofq. We felt this was a good compromise. A 10-15 min ride/drive toschools/ Audubon park and only a short street car ride to fq. Staffwas friendly - the concierge was very helpful in recommendations andtips for the area. Not a complaint - just some items of classification. There is no maidservice, others staying there seemed to miss that point and were upset. You can change t...

Avenue Plaza Resort - New Orleans

The staff was always friendly and helpful - valet, doorman, front desk, & housekeeping. They always seemed to be in a good mood and that helped set the tone for the day. The pool area was well kept. The water was clean and the landscaping/brickwork around the pool were in good shape. The bar's and restaurant's in the area were also good and close walking distance. We also felt safe walking in the area - St. Charles toward Magazine St. and all the way to Audabon park. And the St. Charles Streetcar stopped right in front of the hotel - ver...

A Pleasant Stay in New Orleans

I wasn't blown away by Avenue Plaza Resort, but I appreciated the lack of pretense and the great people that worked the front desk and door/valet immensely. One name I'll never forget is the doorman/valet Jerome or his nickname of "Twig" (if you see Jerome you'll know why this is an ironic nickname).Jerome was a pleasure to deal with as were most […] of the desk clerks. One woman always greeted my family with a cheery smile and kind words when she saw us.BTW: Pay the $20 per day for parking. It's safe and there are few options around the neighborhood. Use the trolley cars to get around. You can take the St. Joseph trolley right to Canal and Bourbon streets and enter right into the French Quarter. Buy a daily ...
