Cape Cod is a beautiful family vacation destination that juts out into the Atlantic Ocean in the state of Massachusetts. There are lots of kid-friendly hotels and several great family-oriented attractions to keep everyone entertained. Provincetown is known for its great beaches, harbor and artists. The town itself is a tourist attraction and teens and tweens will love the "little beach community" look and feel. Set your toddlers on the beach with buckets and shovels while the older kids run off and play in the waves. The summer months are fabulous at the tip of the cape.
For families with younger children, Boat Tours – Dolphin Fleet of Provincetown is a great way to spend an afternoon. The ride is about 3 or 4 hours and there is a good chance you and your children will spot dolphins or whales. Make sure you bring snacks for the babies, because the ride can get rough and it’s a good idea to keep food in their tummies. If your kids like boats, this is a kid-friendly activity well worth the money.
Another fun and educational tourist attraction is Plimoth Plantation. It is a living museum in Plymouth that shows the original settlement of the Plymouth Colony established in the 17th century. This kid-friendly attraction is fun for all ages and during the fall you can attend a traditional Harvest Dinner.
There are many great areas to visit in Cape Cod that are family-focused. Something can be found for children of all ages. With great family hotels in the area, this is the perfect destination for family travelers.
