my husband and i took our 2 girls (ages 3 and 1) to this museum over thanksgiving break.  we live in los angeles, but the in laws live in glenview so we wanted to check it out.  i was hoping that it would be less crowded during lunchtime, but it was not the case at all!  it was very crowded and a bit overwhelming at first.   some kids have NO manners and the parents are just as rude too.  but once you overlook that and avoid them, this museum is awesome.  both our girls loved the different themes and did not want to leave to go to the next section.  even though the younger one was a bit too young to fully take advantage, she did enjoy touching and seeing a variety of things she normally wouldn't touch/see.  ...

My son started coming here around age 1.5, and it was pretty overwhelming for him at that age, although he loved the grocery store simulation. He's 4 now, and he loves coming. In addition to the permanent exhibits and rotating special exhibits, they also h...

I've been a member of Kohl's for 5 years now. So overall, obvisously I'm a fan but there are def. some plusses and minuses! Plus: - Great place for kids to play, lots of little areas. - Join their facebook page for updates on exhbit openings; they will often post when there are non-field trip and anticipated light-crowd days. :) - Outdoor exhibit has often been closed when I've gone. - Staff are continually present refreshing and straightening up the various areas. - Spend the extra $20 for an extended membership and you can also go to museums such as Navy Pier, DuPage (Naperville) and Milwaukee for FREE. Worth it if you like to change it up! - Walk to the Glen. Have seriously left hubby w/kids and walked th...

I had my daughter's 1 year birthday party here and it was a hit.  We had about 21 kids ages ranged from 1 year to 9 years old and there was something for everyone. The staff are very nice and helpful when you are having a party there.  Just a couple of tips: - The 1 hour and 45 minutes you get the room for goes by VERY fast.  It is imperative that you bring people to help you set up and breakdown.  They charge you $20 for every 5 minutes you are in the room after your alloted time so be careful.   -You are extremely busy during that hour and 45 minutes, ask someone to handle the picture taking/ video duties, I did not get as many as I would have liked as you are rushing around quite a bit.   - Sing happy bir...
