One of the smaller NC aquariums but a good stop for the family.  The sharks and moray eel are the highlights but ...

I agree with the other reviewers.  For kids this is a 5, for adults this is a 3.  Compared to other aquariums the tanks are much smaller and more limited, if you're used to big city big aquarium tanks you will be disappointed.  That said, the hands...

This is the second NC Aquarium I've visited and I feel like they are all over priced and small.  In fact, if they would combine the two I've been to so far, it would be a much better aquarium and a much better deal.  They need to work with Ripleys....they know how to make an aquarium.  Most of the fish here were hard to spot, small exhibits, and you would think the turtle exhibit was huge from their advertising but it's pretty small with only a couple of small turtles from the same species.  My kids watched the dive show in the big tank and no one could understand the diver due to a technical malfunction.  We also went to the "feed the stingrays" show which means the staff feed them while you watch.  Maybe i...

I would give this more of a 3.5 star, but I'm rounding up for kicks tonight. It's a decent aquarium. Nothing really awe-striking, but decent. It was a great escape from a rainy day, and I do love aquariums, so it was a easy choice to trek up here from Avon. They have some nice sharks, but I almost expected them to have more. Maybe I'm just shark greedy. ...

This is a nice little aquarium that focuses on the North Carolina coastal life, which is best for younger kids. The hands-on turtle rescue was a big hit with the 5 & 6 year old tha...

I feel sorry for this neat little aquarium, with its three and a half stars.  Yes, it's not the grandest aquarium ever, but its size suits its location, and it's actually got some pretty cool stuff.  As some reviews have said, kids would probably appreciate it more than many adults, but it is a relaxing grown-up excursion for a rainy day as well. Of course, I might be prejudiced, since I love to observe the denizens of the deep (and to eat them as well, but for that, see my restaurant reviews in this list). But I digress: as I said, the aquarium isn't grand, but it isn't puny, either.  They have a nice array of fish, turtles, and even otters.  The shark tank is pretty impressive as well; I wish we had been t...

This place is loads of fun for kids, and educational too, with a very reasonable price tag. If you have older kids, they might not like it as...

I'm giving this a 4 since while the kids will think it's a 5, the adults will be giving it a 2 or 3.   For kids, this place is great, especially the little ones.  There isn't a lot of fish here but they do have a huge petting pool which is what the kids enjoy most anyways.  I was here with a friend's 2 year old and he could have spent hours here easily.  He loved it!  It's also great for little ones b/c it's small so they don't get too overwhelmed which is a plus.  The older kids though may get a bit bored and the adults certainly will.  It's nice but it is very small. If you go here on a rainy or bad weather day, expect long lines and lots of people, it is a common idea of an activity for a rainy day.   Go ...
