San Antonio is a city of theme parks, zoos, caves, parks and playgrounds. Pique your children's curiosity with interactive exhibits at the children's museums, kid-friendly productions at the children's theater and a fantastic movie watching experience at one of the city's movie theaters. San Antonio offers Texas-sized thrills, up-close and personal encounters with exotic animals, wild rides and a beautiful cavern.
This city is filled with theme parks. For thrills served with a side of screams, get on a coaster at Six Flags Fiesta Texas. For older kids, this theme park has the perfect amount of daring drops and terrific twists. Younger kids who find these coasters much too intimidating can enjoy SeaWorld San Antonio. Here, kids can get up close and personal with animals, and find a plethora of kid-friendly rides and attractions. Shamu and performing dolphins are sure to entertain. For more animal encounters, the San Antonio Zoo is another great stop
San Antonio is also home to the River Walk, a network of walkways along the banks of the San Antonio River. Families can go for a leisurely stroll and enjoy the many attractions along the way. Cultural hotspots, historic sites, shopping and eateries can all be found on this most-famed of pathways.
Though families most likely will not want to leave the city and all it has to offer, there is much more to be seen in its surrounding, old-school small towns. Most of these towns were settled back in the 1800s and are filled with charm and diverse traditions, cuisines and architecture. Visitors can ride horseback through the beautiful Texas Hill Country, shop at the local antique stores and enjoy water ventures - all just a short drive away from the bustling city of San Antonio.
