Not a aquarium one would picture like in California and other locales, but had some interesting exhibits. I would say it's more of a place to go with your kids. As adults with no kids it was interesting enough but wouldn't go out of my way to visit as a must see on maui. I was impressed with the...

OK..I really feel the admission fees is high..I understand its not California or Monterey Bay Aquarium..but still, I mean sure there are Green Hawaiian Sea Turtles..but I saw one up-close in Turtle Town when snorkeling! Sure sure I also understand it's got it's own charm and blah blah..but unless you have kids to entertain I would avoid..And Yes I did avoid!! I had heard so much about the gift store, so I really wanted to check it out, without having to shell out 50$ for the 2 of us..So I went up to the kind lady at the desk and asked her if I could get an admission to just go check out the gift store..Lo and Behold they have a green colored band meant only for guests who would like to spend time in their co...

YOU HAVE GOT TO BE KIDDING ME IF YOU'RE GIVING THIS PLACE 5 stars!!!! This is such a tourist trap and after paying $50 bucks to get in I wanted my money back. This is a sad excuse for an aquarium and ye...

Eh, I was pretty disappointed by this place. It's probably because I'm spoiled by living so close to the Monterey Bay Aquarium, but there really were a lot of things that needed updating and care. Hammerhead Harbor was cloudy and you could barely see any of the sharks, who stay all the way in the back. Turtle Lagoon consisted of about 4 turtles. The octopus was MIA, and the tide pools had very minimal creatures in them. But I do admit the reefs were beautiful, I've owned tanks for years so I can really appreciate these things of beauty. The corals were just gorgeous. I did feel like the variety of fish got kind of monotonous, which I should understand is because they specialize in native fish of Hawaii. I di...

The reef was amazing there.  It's a pretty small aquarium, but worth the trip.  A good portion of it is outdoors, so don...

If you plan to snorkel in Maui this place is a must. It prepares you for what you have seen, or will see. It's a small, yet quaint place that covers a lot with their various tanks and exhibits. The staff is superb, we enjoyed listening to Mike talk about the challenges the Hawaiian reefs are currently having...

We love the Maui Ocean Center!  This place is really wonderful, and highly educational.  The naturalists are passionate about marine life and conservation, and extremely knowledgeable.  Naturalists gave talks at the shark tank and the turtle tank almost constantly, we actually went to 2 talks at the shark tank on the same day and they were actually different!  This is definitely not a small aquarium, it can take ALL DAY to see everything.  The quantity and variety of tropical fish is just stunning.  Yes, this place is a little pricey, but I'm happy to give them money for the good work they do.  In addition to running the exhibits and educational programs, they also raise baby turtles and return them to the w...

Not sure what I can add that hasn't been already.  Although it may be a bit on the pricey side, this is the best place to see local sea life without putting on the gear and going into the dri...
