Beautiful zoo with well kept, animal friendly habitats, and lots of care for the animals.

Flag review

I very much enjoy going to the LA Zoo and appreciate the care they take of their animals. I think in the world we live in, zoos play an important role in conservation and awareness which I am trying to impart to my children. They have many opportunities to view animals in their natural habitats as we travel often. I also want them to see the impact humans have on their environment and how we are placing so many of the species we share this planet with in jeopardy. Zoos help by allowing those who don't have the same opportunities to view wildlife and also help preserve species who are on the endangered species list. I especially love taking them to the little hospital they have at the zoo so they can see how injured animals are taken care of and rehabilitated.

Tips for Families

School days are very crowded with school tours, but you can avoid this by going later in the day as most buses will need to leave by 1:30 to return to school. Early in the morning and later in the day you'll see more activity from the animals. To avoid very large crowds don't go on holidays!
