Embassy Suites is perfect for families

Flag review

We drove down to Frisco Texas for my son's birthday weekend. We stayed at the Embassy suites. We love staying there as a family since the rooms are so big. They are nice for families since they have the separate living area with the extra TV. This is nice so the kids can watch what they want in one room and the parents can watch something on the other TV in the bedroom. We also love that they have the complimentary manager reception in the evening. You can get light snacks ( trail mix, chips, nuts, etc) and free drinks. This helps save on your spending budget. Another reason we stay at Embassy Suites is the free full breakfast they serve. There breakfast is so worth it. They serve made to order eggs, bacon, sausage, cereal, fruits and so much more. If we eat a really good breakfast our kids are good to go for quite a bit of the day.

Tips for Families

Go to managers reception and have light snacks, take advantage of the breakfast

Must see in San Diego

Flag review

We decided to stop and tour the USS Midway while in San Diego. This was a very fun and educational activity. There was so much to see. We toured the whole air craft carrier. It is so neat to see how the ship mates spent there day and nights aboard that vessel. My 2 boys loved it. There were helicopters and planes that they could sit in on the deck, they could actually lay in the bunks, and you could tour all the working areas of the carrier. There is a lot of walking and climbing of stair involved. But this was well worth the stop.

Tips for Families

Wear comfortable shoes, there will be a lot of walking and climbing. They do sell snacks and drinks. Talk you time and go through it slow and really take it all in.

1st Visit to this Beach

Flag review

This was our first time to Huntington Beach Pier. The view off the Pier was so beautiful. It was so fun to watch all of the surfers. There were a few cute little gift shops to look in. Also Dukes was there, we wanted to eat lunch there because we heard the food was so good, but they were closed.

Tips for Families

Take sand stuff if you kids like to play in the sand.

Best Food!!!

Flag review

This was a family style all you can eat meal. You can choose dinner or lunch. We chose dinner because you get Sausages as an extra meat at dinner. We did make a reservation because we were not sure how crowded it would be. Every one is seated outside at picnic tables. You get your drinks in mason jars. The meal included corn bread, corn on the cob, beans, cole slaw, ribs, chicken and sausages. They will bring you as much as your family can eat. They also have a stage with entertainment while you are eating.

Tips for Families

Bring lots of wipes, children's hands were very messy after the meal. This was a pricy meal so if your family is not big eaters, it may be a waste for you

First Family Visit

Flag review

This park was so fun for our family. There is so much to see and do here. There are rides and attractions for all ages. Make sure you stay at night and watch World of Color, the show was the best!!! Cars Land was so real and life like, that seems to be where we spent a lot of our time. They do a special lighting of the town each night at dusk, you don't want to miss it. There was a lot of really great food here to try. My husband and 10 year old love the thrill rides like Tower of Terror and California Screamin.

Tips for Families

This park is for all ages, but seems to have a little more rides for older kids. Go to cars land and check it all out, there is so much to see!! Have a cozy cone snack. Get to World of Color early to get a good viewing spot

1st Visit

Flag review

This was our first visit to Disneyland. Make sure to get your first visit buttons at the gate if this is your first time. We wore ours and everyone was so nice to our family. If was really nice that the park was within walking distance from our hotel. Make sure you get to the gates early it takes a few minutes to get through the security line for them to check your bags. Take your time, don't try to do it all in one day. Many of the food options the portions are really big, sometimes people can share and there is plenty. Always check Disneyland on line to see what rides & attractions will be open or closed while you are there. Make time for the fireworks and parades they are really good.

Tips for Families

Wear comfy shoes. Sometimes meals can be shared the portions are really big. You can take in drinks, so that could save you a little money. The four of us always carried in a bottle of water every day. Some lines are long, but the rides are really worth it.

Disneyland Visit

Flag review

This hotel is within walking distance of the parks. I chose this hotel because it was one that served a bigger free breakfast. This hotel offered more than cereal and doughnuts. We could get fresh waffles, eggs, yogurt, toast, muffins, cereals, pastries, juice, coffee and tea. Also another plus was the free wifi. We were not at our room much except to sleep and clean up. We spent most of our time at Disneyland. The grounds were nice and clean and the staff was very friendly.

Tips for Families

Take advantage of the breakfast, also in walking distance from the Hotel is a McDonalds. If you have really small children the walk may be long for them, but was easy for my family.

Must See Attraction for Families

Flag review

This was the best zoo our family had been to. There were so many different animals there that my children had never got to experience. There is so much to see and do. There is a bus that takes you to see a lot of the animals , but the see them up close and get better pictures it is best to walk, since the bus zooms by each one pretty quick. Also one neat thing the the sky trail ride which took you high atop the zoo for a beautiful aerial view.

Tips for Families

Wear good walking shoes, you will need them. Bring you camera there was so many great picture spots. Just take you time and enjoy to take it all in.

Beautiful Hotel

Flag review

The nice thing about this hotel is that it is walking distance to many popular attractions. Being on the marina is fun for the kids to see the boats coming and going. It is very close to a little shopping area with a carousel and many kids friendly things to see and do.

Tips for Families

Families with young children may need to rent a car, but sine our kids were older walking to things were easy for us.
