Nice hotel at Laguna Beach!

Flag review

We love visiting the Laguna Beach. Had a nice hike on the Laguna Canyon Laurel Trail. Didn't have a hard time finding a parking spot on the trailhead. Cost to park at the trail was I think $5.00. The trail we went on was shady most of the way up. The trail had a lot of trees and cool rocks. Once you get to the top it doesn't have as much shade. It was a fairly warm day so we did get hot and sweaty. It was a nice hike though. Later we walked the beach. That night we had dinner at Las Brisas on the patio. They had heaters set up by the tables so it didn't get to cold. The food at Las Brisas was very good. We stayed at the Laguna Cliffs Inn, we have stayed there each time we have visited Laguna Beach. The hotel is comfortable and we had no complaints. We had the pool and hot tub to ourselves. Love their pool area. The hotel staff is very friendly and work hard to accomodate you.

Tips for Families

Walking the beach there are small tide pools that have hermit crabs living in them.

Great place to hike!

Flag review

During the off season is a great time to visit the park. It is not crowded at all and the weather is perfect for hiking. On a lot of the hikes we had the trails to ourselves. Though we have visited the park many times we had yet to hike to Observation Point and decided to hike it during this trip. On the hike to Observation Point there was no one else on the trail. During the hike we saw big horn sheep. The trail passes through Echo Canyon which is a beautiful canyon with different shapes and colors. When you reach the top you have amazing views of the park. The hike is an eight mile round trip with an elevation gain of 2,100 feet. We did other hikes while we were there. The hike to the falls was icy so you had to hold on to the chains. My husband is an early bird and would get up and drive into the park to see the deer grazing. Since there was hardly anyone in the park the deer would come down each morning. We were able to drive our car to the starting points of our hike since it was the off-season. The parking lots had plenty of parking spaces. During the summer you have to take the shuttle busses. The hotel we stayed at was the Desert Pearl Inn. The hotel has a great view of the river. The room was very well deocorated and well kept. We had a kitchen so we fixed some meals there. The hotel was very quiet, but that could of been because there were not many guests. We did visit a few eating establishments in Springdale and had no complaints.

Tips for Families

Hotels are cheaper during the off season. I highly suggest Desert Pearl Inn. Check the weather and make sure that there is not snow or rain in the forecast.
