Great Location, Easy Walk To Disneyland and California Adventure

Flag review

This is an average hotel with a great location. It is right at the crosswalk to Disneyland. The room was large enough for our family of 5. The room had a microwave and fridge, which was nice to keep the bottles of water cold. Parking is one of the best deals anywhere near the park. The breakfast was adequate, nothing fancy, but saved us a lot of money. The pool was small, which worked out to our advantage, ( if it was bigger, my kids would have wanted to spend more time there and we did not drive 12 hours to go swimming. )

Tips for Families

There is a Target 2 blocks south, This hotel is close enough that you can walk back for a mid-day siesta.

Great family hotel

Flag review

We loved the King suite with bunk beds. The room is almost the size of two hotel rooms and there is a fort in the corner with 2 bunk beds plus a TV and an x-boy. Each bed has it's own night light too. The king size bed in the main room was very comfortable. There is a fridge and a microwave in the room. The breakfast was one of the best hotel breakfasts we have ever had: eggs, biscuits and gravy, pancakes, bacon, cereal, yogurt, bagels. And the breakfast staff was friendly and organized. The pool was too cold for the kids to stay in very long. It is an indoor pool which was nice, but the temperature of the water needed to be a little warmer. The sauna and hot tub were great.

Tips for Families

Get the family suite with bunk beds. x- box games can be rented at the front desk. This is a pet-free hotel. The visitor's center for Mesa Verde is 9 miles away but it is another 20 miles past that to get to the ruins.

Not a great choice for families

Flag review

The good news: the pool is the perfect temperature and a great place to unwind after a long day in the car, the location is very close to Arches National Park the staff is very helpful and the room was clean. The bad news: just about everything else. The rooms are small and minimally furnished, not even a clock in the room. You might be able to fit a family of 4 but it will be a tight fit. The bathroom is on an angle and has very little counter space and there is no shampoo or conditioner, only a bar of soap. There was a hotel-wide shortage of towels the weekend we stayed. The room was very noisy at night. We could hear cars out on the main road and we could hear every time anyone in the room rolled over or changed position on the mattress. The motel seemed under-staffed. There was only 1 employee on the property during check-in on a sold out weekend. The motel offered a breakfast voucher for a diner in town. There are a lot of better family friendly hotels in Moab. Just book early.

Tips for Families

Book your Moab trip as early as possible, you will get better rates and have more hotel choices. Arches National Park is amazing.

Disney Created the Perfect Family Vacation

Flag review

The Disney Aulani Resort is absolutely beautiful. I think this resort offers the perfect family vacation. Once you get to the resort, everything you need is right there so you can just relax and spend time playing together. It is very compact so there is not a lot of walking but well designed so it feels spacious. The attention to detail that went into creating this resort is amazing, from the carpets, to the hidden wooden monkeys, to the music in the elevator, everything has been designed to create a magical experience. The lagoon is beautiful with nice sand and calm water- very safe for children. If you follow the path around to where it leaves Ko'Olina property, by the Marriott, there is a less protected lagoon with waves and sea turtles. The pools are clean and beautifully done, and the water is warm. These are several adult only pools and hot tubs. The lazy river and water slides were a lot of fun. I was hesitant to try Rainbow Reef because I have snorkeled natural reefs, but I was pleasantly surprised by how nice it was to swim with fish in a controlled environment. This is a great way to introduce kids to snorkeling. The water is colder in Rainbow Reef, but you get used to is quickly. The only negative is the food. Skip the buffet, it was very hit and miss- some things were great, some things not so much, and for the price, there was not a great selection. We ate most of our meals at the Ulu Café, which is cafeteria style and very reasonable price-wise. Ama Ama was good but more expensive. We had dinner there at sunset and it was spectacular. I loved the yoga in the morning (Joe Peach- you are my favorite! The Yoga Fusion walk...brilliant!) and the sidewalk that runs the length of the resort area is perfect for jogging. I can't wait to go back.

Tips for Families

Buy most of your food at the grocery store.

Nice place to stay after a long drive

Flag review

After driving all day we finally pulled off the free way around 9:00 pm to find a hotel for the night. We found one we thought would do and as we turned around to go back, we saw this motel and decided to check it out. We are so glad we did. The man at the front desk was one of the nicest people I have ever met. He had suite with three beds, perfect for our family of 5, for a very reasonable rate. He also pointed out several local restaurants in the area. He sent us back to the car with cookies and apples for the kids. The motel is slightly older but the room was clean and large. The pool was nice - open until 10- so we could get some of the wiggles out before putting the kids to bed. Breakfast in the morning was nice. There wasn't a huge selection and no protein but we felt lucky that we didn't have to go try to find something to eat in a town we were completely unfamiliar with. If we ever get back this way, we would stay here again. We stayed in 5 hotels (all of them more expensive) on our trip and this was the kids favorite.

Tips for Families

Ask for the suite with three beds. We put our air mattress in the "closet" by the bathroom and all the kids got their own bed that night.

Good Location, good price, rooms...not so good

Flag review

We stayed here with our three kids. I really liked the idea of a kitchenette in the room so wouldn't have to eat out all the time. This location is fabulous and the price was reasonable, but the room was very awkward. The way the furniture was arranged made the room feel small and cramped. The kitchenette had no counter space and so it was hard to even make a bowl of cereal. There was a small step up into the bathroom which was weird and dangerous. We kept the bathroom light on all night so no one would trip on the step in the night. There was no place to eat in the room either. The one small table was covered by the coffee maker and a lamp. There is a restaurant on the property and the kitchen opens up into the stairwell so the halls smelled like stale food. The elevator is so slow that the stairs are the default option. The worst part about staying here, is that you are surrounded by obviously nicer hotels that you will wish you had stayed at instead. We did love the pool. It was a great temperature. And the free parking was nice. From the hotel, you can walk to most of the downtown Victoria attractions.

Tips for Families

There is no air conditioning in the hotel rooms, although a fan is provided and leaving the window open can be noisy. The kitchenette was not a practical option, although having a sink, fridge and microwave was nice.

Cute, Clean and Quiet.

Flag review

This is an independently owned motel and attention to detail and pride of ownership were evident throughout the property. We liked the location, and the easy access to Lions Gate Bridge, downtown Vancouver and Stanley Park. This is a "budget" motel so expecting anything else would be unrealistic. The rooms were large, clean and updated. There is a nice pool on the property.( It would be nice to have a map of the property in the room, it took me forever to find the ice machine- it is in the laundry room.) Breakfast was good but seemed understaffed. The two women who were washing dishes and re stocking food were constantly on the run and they were always out of something. Over all, we really liked it and would stay here again.

Tips for Families

There is not a lot to do or eat immediately around the hotel so be prepared to drive anytime you need to leave the property.

Great Location and Family Friendly but hotel is showing its age

Flag review

This hotel is in a great location, with a very easy walk to the Space Needle, EMP Museum, the Children's Museum, a food court, the Pacific Science Center and the monorail that takes you down to the aquarium and the public market. The staff was also very good, check in was quick and hassle free, the breakfast was nice, except there were not any "kid friendly" cereal options like cheerios or fruit loops. They do have waffles, fruit, toast, muffins, eggs and sausage. (we had great weather so we were able to eat outside- the dining area is small so go early or there will be no place to sit). We needed extra bedding and house keeping brought it with in 5 minutes,( the quickest for any hotel we have ever stayed in). The pool area is clean and well kept. There is on-site parking for $15 a day which is a bargain for the area. The main reason we picked this hotel was it was one of the few places in the area that allowed 5 people in a room. We have three kids and it was a tight fit. (If we were to go back, I think I would get two rooms at a cheaper hotel) The bad news is that this place is older, most of the outlets in our room didn't work, the bed was about 15 inches from the bathroom door, there was no closet or fridge in the room, and there is NO counter space in the bathroom. The halls were dark, especially around the elevator, and it was always really hot in the elevator alcove. The halls have weird ramps. None of the rooms have a view of the space needle, although the hall is lined with windows so you get a view as you walk to your room. It looks like the staff works really hard to keep this place together and make it as pleasant as possible, the staff was great, the rooms were clean, the beds were comfortable, but the building could use some updating.

Tips for Families

Buy the CityPass.

Great Location, large hotel, small rooms

Flag review

The best thing about this hotel is the location. You walk aou the back door and cross the street and you are at Fisherman's Warf. The room was small and started to feel very cramped for a family of 5 after a few days but We would definatly stay here again when we go back to San Francisco. The view from our room was beautiful. We could see the Golden Gete Bridge, Alcatraz and the huge shipping boats passing through the bay. Parking is available on site but plan on spending an additional $30 a day for parking.

Tips for Families

Ask for a room with a water view

fun indoor pool

Flag review

We loved our stay at the Marriott Hotel Park City. We were on a road trip to Dinosaur National Monument in Vernal Utah and stayed 1 night in Park City on outrway. The hotel doesn't look like much from the outside but is beautiful inside. At check in the front desk staff let the kids pick a prize from a treasure chest. My 5 year old was thrilled with his water toy. Our room was on the pool level and had a door that opened directly into the indoor pool courtyard. The courtyard is beautiful and surprisingly quiet for an indoor pool. It rained hard outside that night but the kids were blissfully unaware of the bad weather as they swam. The room was large enough for the air mattress we brought for one of the kids to sleep on.

Tips for Families

Ask for a room on the pool level
